Hradcanska for Flute, Violin, Cello, and Piano Perusal Score (not printable)

Hradcanska  for flute, violin, cello, and piano was written during a residency at the Prague/American Summer Music Institute and completed during a residency at the Seaside Institute program “Escape to Create.  “Hradcanska” is the name of the subway stop near the studio in which I wrote the piece. While in Prague I was struck by the frenetic level of activity that was taking place.  At that time, 1994, there was so much construction occurring that there was virtually no unemployment.  On one hand, everything seemed to be working just right but I also felt uneasy, as I often do when things are going really well. Underneath this feeling of exhilaration there is also a feeling of insecurity or unease that all is about to unravel.
